After the short-but-strong thunderstorm that pushed a tree onto the Interstate-87 southbound lanes, turned some downtown roads into rivers and knocked power out for many on Thursday evening last week, Yaddo, the artists retreat on Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs, has also announced some damage.
“The Yaddo Gardens sustained heavy storm damage overnight. We will be closing for cleanup all weekend,” the organization announced on Facebook last week. A separate announcement on their website says: “Due to storm damage, our Gardens at Yaddo are temporarily closed to ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and volunteers. We are working hard on clean-up so we can reopen soon. Thank you!”
Officials today did not go into detail about the damage, but reiterated that they plan to open again soon.
