Objectively, Saratoga Springs has a stunning downtown. From its trees and spacious sidewalks to the preserved historic architecture, what’s not to love?
Or am I just biased because I live here? We’ll never know, because downtown was just named one of the Top 5 “prettiest” in Upstate New York.
“Broadway…in Saratoga Springs has no off-season,” writes WorldAtlas.com in an article published on Sunday, June 22. “Start your day with a stroll through Congress Park and drink from a mineral spring, ride the antique carousel, or simply sit under the trees with the locals.”
Uncommon Grounds, Northshire and Impressions also get name-checked.
“There is a downtown in every town, but there are few downtowns that feel alive,” says the outlet, regarding how the gorgeous downtowns — which also included Skaneatles, Hudson, Woodstock and Hammondsport — were chosen. “Park once, walk slowly, and don’t be surprised if you find more character in three blocks here than in an entire city somewhere else.”
The writer also enjoyed Saratoga’s Summer Concert Series — and Belmont on Broadway, which has so far featured Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms as headliners. And with the Belmont Stakes now confirmed for a third run in Saratoga, it looks like we can look forward to one more of those next year.
